Step 1Free introductory call, 20 minutes
We talk about what's going on, what you need most, and whether I'm the right fit. There's no obligation, and you don't need to have records ready.
Good to have ready
- What's changing or most urgent
- What's already been tried
- Any upcoming deadlines or appointments
What you won't need
- Organized records
- Insurance details
- A polished, complete history
Step 2In-depth assessment, one hour
We take a closer look at your health history, what's been tried, what matters most to you, and your goals. If it's easy, have a list of your current providers and medications nearby. If it's not, we'll build it together.
Step 3Your action plan, in writing
Within five business days after the assessment, I create a written plan with what I found, specific next steps, and estimated time and cost. We review it together, and nothing begins until you approve it.
Step 4I get to work
I carry out the plan with you, communicate by phone, video, or email, and keep you updated in plain language. I follow up on open items until each one is resolved or you decide to move on.
How we'll work together
We communicate by phone, video, and email. Texting is for scheduling only, with no health details. Documents are shared through a secure folder. My public hours are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific. New inquiries receive a response within 1–2 business days; active clients hear back within one business day, often sooner.
If your needs change
You can pause or end our work at any time with written notice. If the scope changes, we'll agree on it in writing before new work begins. When we finish, you'll receive a closing summary and your organized records. Unused prepaid time is refunded.
Clear pricing, in writing, before we begin
Your introductory call is free. After the in-depth assessment, your written action plan includes an estimate of time and cost, and no work begins until you approve it. Independent advocacy is private-pay, which is part of what keeps me independent: I answer only to you.
- The in-depth assessment and ongoing work are billed hourly, in 15-minute increments.
- Some defined projects, like a records review, can be quoted as a flat fee after the assessment.
- Invoices are monthly and itemized, due within 15 days.
- Credit and debit cards and ACH bank transfer are accepted. HSA/FSA cards are accepted too, but coverage varies, so check with your plan.
- In-person travel within Greater LA is billed at a reduced rate plus mileage. Virtual work has no travel charge.
- Costs like record copies are passed through at cost, only with your approval.
- Scheduled sessions need 24 hours' notice to cancel. Cancellations for health reasons are always waived.
- Ask about reduced-fee availability and payment plans.

What happens when you reach out
The free introductory call is 20 minutes, with no obligation and no records needed. We talk about what's going on, what you need most, and whether I'm the right fit. If we work together, we'll sign a simple written agreement, and you'll give me written permission to speak with your providers. Nothing begins until you approve the written action plan, including estimated time and cost. Please keep detailed medical records out of your first message.
